Ticket to Ride

Kenny and I have been trying out European board games after I read about them. I agree with the article that it is not fun being bankrupt on the sideline and watch everyone else have all the action that I went ahead and got a copy of Settlers of Catan.

We tried Catan with Cindy and Eric and it is definitely a game that we'll play when they are back in town but the problem is that you need at least 3 players to play and best with 4 players. I doubt Matthias will be playing Catan anytime soon with us so I went off to find another game so that Kenny and I can play together.

I ended up with Ticket to Ride and instead of purchasing it at the full price, I was able to find a new copy on Craigslist for half the price! Although best with 4 players, it is playable starting with 2. We didn't know what to expect from the game but after testing it out we enjoyed it very much! The game was very easy to learn and not as complicated as Catan. It is not as strategic as Catan and without the constant interaction between players but there are still so many creative ways to play. Kenny was even more excited than I about the game after the fact that he brought it home and made Steven play it with us!
